Help Us Send Utica Youth to Star Search!
Star Search is The Salvation Army’s version of “America’s Got Talent” — a dynamic, highly anticipated annual talent competition that showcases the musical, artistic, and creative abilities of youth from Salvation Army programs across the region.
Each spring, our local students prepare pieces they have worked on throughout the year and present them in this talent showcase. They compete alongside hundreds of children from across New York who participate in similar music programs.
Those who earn first place at the state level go on to represent New Jersey at the inter‑state competition, where they perform among thousands of young musicians and artists from the Northeastern United States.
This year, the youth of Utica represented their city extremely well, using their gifts to glorify the Lord. We received several first-place awards, as well as a number of second- and third-place awards. Since all first-place winners advance to compete in Hershey, PA, we will need financial support to help our young people attend and compete at the next level.
